Profile
Life journey
I come from a humble background in a small town called North Lakhimpur and I am a first-generation Doctoral Researcher from my family. I got fascinated by research when I was doing my post-graduation in English Literature, and no doubt JNU had been a dream since then.
I have had an outstanding academic record since the very beginning of my career. I graduated from the Department of English at Cotton College, Guwahati having chosen English Literature as my major. My post-graduation at Tezpur University has helped me understand my field of interest. It made me understand that my main strength lies in the field of Indian Writing in English from Northeast. After being selected as an MPhil Research Scholar at JNU, I did further research in this area through my dissertation; and for my Ph.D. too I decided to continue in the same field.

In my family, there is my father, my mother, my brother, my sister-in-law, and a nephew. My father retired as a Junior Engineer in the Public Works Department (PWD), North Lakhimpur Division while my mother is a professional writer. She has written around 6 books and has published many articles in various journals, newspapers, and magazines. She has also been awarded various awards because of her writing skills.
