Life journey

I am a full time academician and a lifetime artiste. I am born and brought up in Guwahati, I belong to a cultural family, my mother Mrs. Chetana Das being a renowned actress of Assam, since children I have been raised in an environment of art,culture, dance, drama and music. Me along with my small family have been residing in Delhi NCR since 14 yrs. I am an Odissi dancer and a theatre worker as well. I am also indulged in Archaeological  excavation, researches and a person keeping keen interest in Ancient Indian History and Culture. 

Currently associated as HOD/ PGT- History at K.R. Mangalam World School, Greater Noida. I have a resourceful experience in as Guest Lecturer in Dyal Singh University, Delhi University and Cotton University in the Department of Archaeology. I have done research work on “Sattras (Vaishnavite Monasteries) at Majuli, Assam
with special reference to Traditional Mask Making culture” under the guidance of Dr. Shahida Ansari, Deccan College Post Graduate & Research Institute, Pune and I have published several research papers nationally and internationally. I got the opportunity of attending and presenting my paper on Sattras of Assam in various conferences and seminars on Archaeology, Folklore, Tangible cultural heritage and Ancient History in national and international platform. I am actively associated in Archaeological explorations and excavations in northern, western and northeastern part of the country. Also, I conduct sessions and workshops on the Basics of Arcaheology for kids. I am also associated with Indian National Congress of Anthropology, Society of South Asian Archaeology, Indian Council of Historical Research and Heritage Society of India.   

Performed several cultural functions inside and outside the state organised by Directorate of Cultural Affairs, Government of Assam. I have rendered my voice in several Assamese movies, VCD's and advertisement as well.

Outstanding performance

Accademically, I have qualified National Eligibility Test for Lecturership in Archaeology. I have been awared as First class Second position in my Graduation from Gauhati University and First class 3rd position from Deccan College Post Graduate & Research Institute, Pune. Also Awarded Shri Katragadda Subbaiah Memorial Prize and prof. R.V. Joshi Memorial Award for securing highest marks in the subjects Protohistory of South Asia and
Science in Archaeology respectively from Deccan College Post Graduate & Research. I have accompished a wrokshop on Folklore and Intangible Cultural Heritage conducted by Indira Gandhi National Centre for Arts, New Delhi. 

Awarded Outstanding Women Educationist (India) for the exceptional work & Outstanding contribution to the Domain of Education from ECDF Earth Literacy Awards 2022(2nd Edition).  

I have been selected for Theatre Appreciation Course from National School of Drama, New Delhi and have sucessfully completed the workshop. Casted in the film 'Jesus' in the Assamese CV language produced by Greg Hansen, Campus for Christ, Canada, 2003. Also got the opportunity to act in the Hindi movie "Dil Se" directed by Mani Ratnam. Casted in several Assamese movies like Firongoti by Jahnu Barua, Kaalsandhya by DR. Bhabendranath Saikia, Nixidho Nodi by Bidyut Chakraborty, Snehabandhan by Debajit Majumdar etc. I completed Visharad (Graduation) in Classical Dance of India-Odissi Dance under Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva MahaVidyalaya Mandal, 2003.  Participated in the north Eastern Zone Cultural Centre, Dimapur in the
commemoration of the 50th Anniversary of India’s Independence. Participated in the awards to young Talented Artistes organized by Eastern Zonal Cultural Centre, Kolkata
