Wildlife Week Celebration

A Nature Orinentation Camp was Organised by Green Heart Nature Club on 2nd October in the CHAKRASHILA WILDLIFE SANCTUARY which is 5 Kms away from Kokrajhar Town in association with the Forest department of Kokrajhar to mark the 48th Worldlife Week as well as Gandhi Jayanti.

The main objective of the Nature Camp was to introduce the school children as well as the Teacher in-charge of the respetive schools to the Nature. During their camp the children played some nature oriented games under the guidance of Nature Expert throgh which they interacted with the nature and came to know how to survey the wildlife. They also observed the result of illegal tree-felling. Some forest officials also participated in the camps. Among them Western Circle Conservetor of Forest, Mr. Bangkhwal, IFS, District Forest Officer, Mr Patri and ACF, Mr Boro and Iswary and Mr J Pegu, Extra Asst. Commissioner from District Administration. In a very simple way the Conservator explained the students what is the present status of the Earth and what should we do to preserve the same. He also informed the students about the future course of actions taken by the Forest Department to protect this Wildlife Sanctuary.
