One of the four constituencies, Dibrugarh, has been a Congress bastion but State PCC chief Paban Singh Ghatowar is facing an uphill task there. March 16: It is going to "delight" hearts this summer. A brand new flavoured milk, christened Delight and marketed by West Assam Milk Producers’ Co-operative Union Ltd or Purabi Dairy, is set to hit the city market in the first week of April.
Managing director of the co-operative Jiyauddin Choudhury said, "This is our first venture in flavoured milk and we will launch the product it in four flavours — kesar, pista, mango and elaichi."
Photographs of various monuments and other built-heritages of the Ahom Period have been invited for participation. The photos should be of the size 10X12 or 12X15 inches. Interested persons can send any number of photographs. There is no entry fee. Every photo should be enclosed with a short note about its subject. Selected photographs will be displayed in the said exhibition, which is aimed at generating national and international exposure and appreciation. Photographers will also be awarded with certificates.
The celebrations were held at ‘Safa’ Park, Dubai, attended by a group of about 60 from the Emirates of Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi. A number of newcomers to UAE also joined the celebrations, being their first with the Assamese Community of UAE. The program was also enjoyed by a few guests from Assam who were in UAE visiting their relatives and friends.
