Some of them, from weak financial backgrounds have to face grave consequences not needed any explaination. Also this leads to the increase of the number of technically educated unempolyed. The civil engineers resort to becoming \\'Thikadaars\\' and exploit the current situation in Assam. Many return back home from Pune, Bangalore etc and start their own business. But all busineeses in Assam have become saturated.

This meeting will act as a curtain raiser to the North East NRI convention to be held at Assam Engineering Institute Field, Chandmari Field, Guwahati on 11 to 12 January 2005 organised by NECCI (North East Chamber of Commerce & Industry).

Neso chairman Samujjal Bhattacharyya, who led a delegation to the NSCN (I-M) headquarters, Camp Hebron, near Dimapur yesterday, said the objection of the three states was conveyed to the outfit’s president Isak Chishi Swu and general secretary Thuingaleng Muivah.

The two militant leaders had reportedly told the group that other states in the region “should understand the historical facts of the Nagas”.

The function, held at the countryside in Sangaiprou locality in the outskirts of Imphal City was well attended. Apart from Imphal a few families scattered in other parts of the State also took part in the celebration. On the eve of the Bihu Day called “Uruka”, “Bhela Ghar” (Thatched Pavillion) and “Meji” (a cone shaped wooden structure) was put up at the paddy field in Sangaiprou Mamang Leikai. Acknowledging the enthusiasm of the Assamese people, the residents of Sangaiprou Mamang Leikai also chipped-in manually in erecting the structure of “Bhela Ghar” and “Meji”.

The INA represented people from all parts of India who came forward to fight for the independence of their motherland against the British domination.

Magh Bihu celebration is one event looked forward by everyone for that much-awaited annual get together and stock taking. This is the day for playing together, feasting together. For the past many years Central Secretariat Sports Ground has become the regular venue for this event.
